Retired Autism Education Specialist, Prince Georges County Schools
Jan is a recently retired Autism Specialist who worked in Prince George’s County Public Schools for 20 years. She has taught young children on three continents, and has worked with children with special needs for many years. While working for the Infants and Toddlers program, she fell in love with children with autism and, working closely with family members and teachers, has tried to find the “way in” to each child she has worked with since.

Abila is a parent of two children with autism and the inspiration behind the One World Center for Autism. She is a board certified pediatrician who has developed a deep knowledge of the medical and nutritional issues involved in treating children with autism. She believes that supporting the family is a vital component of supporting the child.
